Getaway Tour Itinerary

MONDAY
Traveling to Port Macquarie by Train. We will pick you up from the station at Wauchope and transport you to the El Paso Motor Inn where you will settle in and enjoy your evening in the Waterfront Restaurant.

Town Beach

TUESDAY
This is a very comprehensive tour including the historic sights and modern development of the Holiday Coast capital - Port Macquarie. Also magnificent beaches and lookouts as we hear of the background of Australia's third convict settlement. Head south and view coastal villages of Lake Cathie and Bonny Hills then the beautiful Camden Haven as we look back on the magnificent views from North Brother Lookout.

Our return journey takes us to visit the pioneer village of Timbertown at Wauchope and also sample the goodies from the Fudge Factory. No visit to this area is complete without a visit to Cassegrains world renown Winery as we then arrive home around 4:30pm.

WEDNESDAY
As we cross the range to the Macleay we detour into the delightful coastal resort of Crescent Head then follow the Belmore River to the historic river-port of Gladstone.

From here a scenic drive along the mighty Macleay River to South West Rocks - a holiday mecca on Trial Bay. Hear of the fascinating tales of the old Gaol on Laggers Point and explore the precincts of this imposing prison.

On our return journey is a visit to majestic Smoky Cape Lighthouse. Then follow the West bank of the Macleay to visit and tour Kempsey arriving home at 4:30pm.

THURSDAY
Perhaps a highlight of our holiday as we first head South through the Poets Village of Kendall and visit the Lorne Valley Macadamia Nutfarm to learn about and sample these tasty morsels.

We then climb to the verdant Comboyne Plateau with lush green pastures. Continue on to the Bulga Plateau to visit the longest single drop waterfall in the Southern Hemisphere.

Following a delightful picnic lunch in the reserve we pass into the Manning Valley to visit Wingham and the gigantic Moreton Bay Figs then via Taree as we return around 4:30pm.

FRIDAY
A very relaxing day as you have a short 300m stroll to the Waterfront Wharf of the 'Cruise Adventure' river cruise to depart at 10:00am and explore the glittering waterways of the Hastings River.

After returning at 12:00 noon the rest of the day is yours to enjoy by either shopping at Port Central complex or maybe inspecting the Museum, Historic Courthouse or Convict built church.
